How beautiful and meaningful this quote is. That is if one is able to read deep beyond just the context of the words and dwell into personal experiences. Indeed, what is love? What is companionship? What is friendship? Why are such mundane stuffs be classified as rulers of our lives? Why is it that one's life falter when one component is missing? Has it not once occurred to one that life is all about being alone? Entities can claim to be part of one's life. Yes, while that is true to a certain extend, how much can anyone be there for one? Commitments set aside time. Responsibilities and duties serve as hurdles to be bounded over. In short, limitations of life hinder what others can do for one.
Love and friendship, connections that bind people together, acting like a mirage in the desert. When one reaches forward to grab at what one thought one saw, one realize that one's fingers only closes upon thin air. Likewise, when one is truly in need of support in the harsh rocky path of life, would one stumble over for support only to witness the shimmering mist, that love and friendship always possess when things are rosy, vanish into thin air? Would it not cause the already weak one to fall to the ground, sinking further to the point of no return? Would it struck one only at that point of time that more often than not, we ARE alone?
Reality stinks but face it. When the horns are blown and the beacons are lead, how many would rush to one's aid? One should not just nestle comfortably in that bed of roses for one never know when the roses will wilt, leaving one to experience the pricks of the thorns beneath alone.
We're born alone, not knowing anyone. We live alone, not knowing of when who would genuinely lead one away from solitude. We die alone, not having anyone lying next to one in the crafted coffin. How remarkably true. A quote that is simply put, the summary of life.
